Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Pahadi Zameen ("we", "us") collects through its website, WhatsApp channel, and chat assistant (together, the "Platform"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2025 ("DPDP Act"). By using the Platform you agree to this Policy.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details ourselves — Razorpay handles these directly (see Section 3).

2. Why we collect it

To show your listing to buyers, or to connect you with a listing you're interested in.
To answer your questions through the chat assistant and to follow up with you.
To process payments for any fee you choose to pay, and to issue receipts.
To verify land records where you request a "verified" listing.
To send you WhatsApp updates about a listing or enquiry you're party to.
To review partner applications, contact applicants, and track referrals and commission for approved partners.
To meet our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only as needed to run the Platform:

Razorpay (payment processor) — receives what it needs to process a payment you make; we never see your underlying card/bank/UPI details.
Meta / WhatsApp Business API — carries messages you send or receive with us over WhatsApp.
Anthropic (AI provider for our chat assistant) — receives the text of your chat conversation so the assistant can reply. A seller's minimum acceptable price is never sent to the AI model.
Local partners (surveyor, advocate, notary) — only when you specifically request a paid service that requires us to introduce you to one, and only the details needed for that task.
Our authorised property-care visitor — the address, access notes and your contact details, only for the monthly visits you subscribed to.
A buyer who pays the match/introduction fee — the listing owner's name and phone number. Sellers agree to this when they list; it is the only way a buyer receives them.
Government authorities — where legally required, or to verify a land record you've asked us to check.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account/listing is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes, comply with tax/accounting law, or enforce the 12-month introduction window described in our Terms & Conditions. You can ask us to delete data that we are not otherwise required to keep — see Section 6.

5. Cookies and local storage

The site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It uses your browser's local storage, on your own device only, to remember your name and phone number (so you don't retype them), a chat session ID, and references to requests you started (so the page can show what you unlocked after paying). You can clear these at any time by clearing your browser's site data. The admin dashboard stores a login token the same way, removed when you sign out. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches them.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or erase it (subject to our legal retention needs), and you can withdraw consent for a purpose you'd previously agreed to. To exercise any of these, contact us at the details in Section 8; we will respond within a reasonable time. If you're unsatisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once constituted, or another applicable grievance forum.

7. Children's data

The Platform is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be flagged on the Platform.

This is a working draft written to match how Pahadi Zameen actually operates today, not a substitute for review by an advocate familiar with the DPDP Act, 2025. Have it checked before relying on it, and update it if the data you collect or the third parties you use change.
